The Lost Little Catepillar Synopsis
The lost little Caterpillar tells of the adventure of a spell bound princess and her struggle with understanding the complexities of life. On her journey through the garden, she encounters many other creatures, both friend and foe. A hostile ladybird enters her life, she comes across a friendly worm, is harassed by a buzzing bee and a vicious old spider. Then a sparrow grabs her to feed her to the chicks in its nest.
Production of The Lost Little Catepillar
Fridrik Erlingsson writes the adventure of the Caterpillar. He is the author of Benjamin Dove, an award-winning children’s novel, which was later made into a full-feature film. Gunnar Karlsson, a prestigious Icelandic animator, directs, illustrates and animates the film.
The film premiered in Reykjavik at end of August 2002 and set a local box-office hit for a short film. It was awarded 2 EDDA’s by the Icelandic Academy of Film and TV for BEST SHORT and BEST Artistic Direction.
