WOLKA is a drama film by the late director Árni Ólafur Ásgeirsson, a long-time friend of GunHil and the director of Ploey. Árni managed to see his is film completed prior to parting from us, way too young. The film was mostly shot in Westman Islands in Iceland, with further shooting in the south and east of Iceland as well as days in Poland. The film was the first ever minority language film in Iceland but it was shot in Polish. WOLKA is Árni’s last film.  

Wolka Synopsis

Anna is released from a Polish prison after serving 15 years for homicide. Finally free, she has only one goal, but to achieve it she must break parole and the law, sacrifice everything, and head on an unforeseen journey to the remote island nation of Iceland.
